-Sabrina Robertson Public Information Officer 10/20/21 @ 1:15 p.m. - At today's Board of County Commissioners meeting, approximately 15 residents appeared to express concerns about burning associated with land clearing for developments. While burn permits are not issued by the local County government (they are issued by Florida Division of Forestry), the County Commission understands the health and well-being concerns raised by residents. As a result, they have scheduled a Special Meeting for tomorrow at 4pm to discuss a potential ban on burning of land clearing debris by air curtain incinerator and/or open burning.
This meeting will be open to anyone to attend and public comment is allowed. An agenda will be posted by the close of business today on our website. -Sabrina Robertson Public Information Officer 10/22/21 @ 10:00 a.m. - At Wednesday's Board meeting, two employees were recognized for years of service to the County.
