The Florida Department of Revenue's Sales Tax Holiday begins at 12:00 a.m. on Monday, July 24th and ends at 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, August 6th. During this time, Florida law directs that sales tax or local option tax shall NOT be collected on:
- Purchase of clothing, footwear, and certain accessories selling for $100 or less per item;
- Purchase of certain school supplies selling for $50 or less per item; and
- Purchase of personal computers and computer-related accessories purchased for noncommercial home or person use having a sales price of $1,500 or less
The sales tax holiday does not apply to:
- Any item of clothing selling for more than $100;
- Any school supply item selling for more than $50;
- Books that are not otherwise exempt;
- Computers and computer-related accessories purchased for commercial uses;
- Computers and computer-related accessories with a sales price of more than $1,500
- Rental or leases of any eligible items;
- Repairs or alterations of any eligible item;
- Sales of any eligible items in a theme park, entertainment complex, public lodging establishments, or airport
