![]() 7/22/20 @ 11:45 a.m. - From the Nassau County Department of Health: The Health Department is conducting case investigation and contact tracing on these cases. The individuals will remain in isolation until released by public health. The total case count to date is 838 for Nassau County (799 residents, 39 non-FL residents). With great sadness, the Nassau County Health Department announces that two additional Nassau County residents with COVID-19 infection have passed away. The patients were an 83 year old male and a 45 year old male. This brings the total number of COVID-19 deaths in Nassau County residents to seven. The Health Department extends deepest sympathies to the family and loved ones during this time of sorrow. The Health Department continues to prioritize protecting the health and wellness of the community to ensure these solemn occasions are as rare as possible. Protecting the public’s health, however, is everyone’s responsibility. It is vital that the community continues to be vigilant in following public health recommendations to prevent the further spread of COVID-19 and to protect each other, including those most vulnerable. The FDOH Nassau County Health Department will not release additional details about the individual to respect the family’s privacy during this time of loss. 7/21/20 @ 9:30 a.m. - The State of Florida, Department of Health, has issued the attached Public Health Advisory containing updated measures to protect public health. It contains information on face coverings, gatherings, and measures that should be taken by vulnerable populations.

Please be advised that the public testing site for Tuesday, July 21st has been moved from the Hilliard Health Department to the Hilliard Middle-Senior High School.

Please keep these recommendations in mind throughout the day. If you have any questions, the Nassau County DOH can be reached directly at (904) 875-6100. -Sabrina Robertson County Manager's Office 7/10/20 @ 2:10 p.m. - Today, we have 36 new cases in Nassau County. The Health Department has advised that 3 cases previously reported as Nassau County cases have been reclassified to other counties. The total case is now 438 (419 residents and 19 non-residents).
The Health Department would like to remind vulnerable populations to limit personal interactions outside their home and to take all measures possible to limit the risk of exposure to COVID-19. They have also provided a list of upcoming mobile testing sites between July 14 and July 23, 2020.
For more information, please contact the Nassau County Department of Health directly at (904) 875-6100. -Sabrina Robertson County Manager's Office Health Director Addresses Frequently Asked Questions and Common Misinformation Related to COVID-197/9/2020 7/9/20 @ 10:40 a.m. - At the Board of County Commissioner's meeting held on Wednesday, July 8, 2020, Health Director, Dr. Eugenia Seidel, made a presentation containing important information related to COVID-19. Her presentation included a demonstration on how to utilize the Health Department's dashboard to locate a variety of things including cases by State, County and Zip Code, cases by age, cases in care facilities, hospitalizations, results of COVID testing, deaths, etc. The information is updated on this site daily at 11am and can be accessed by anyone, anytime.
Dr. Seidel also covered frequently asked questions and misinformation related to contact tracing, increase in cases by percentages, monitoring of active cases, effectiveness of face coverings, and rapid result testing. She also discussed different types of anti-body cases, their accuracy and which antibody tests are counted as a case when positive (not all antibody tests are counted because some are not as accurate for various reasons in which she explains). We encourage all residents to watch this informative presentation to gain ACCURATE information. The video can be accessed here.
