Today, we would like to take a moment to highlight the important role of our Facilities Maintenance Department. This department works quietly behind the scenes to ensure that our facilities and grounds are clean safe. This includes maintenance and repair of approximately 75 facilities, 6 community buildings, 4 ballparks/sports complex, 7 boat ramps, 4 parks, and all of the County's beachfront parks/access areas and beach walkovers. Their jobs include routine inspections and maintenance, as well as responding to work orders submitted by residents and County employees.
In Fiscal Year 2021/2022, the department completed a whopping 16,593 work orders! Maintenance Technicians are assigned work orders each day. Each work order is different and varies in location and skill sets. Work orders range from painting, carpentry, plumbing, welding, air conditional, and electrical work.... just to name a few!
We appreciate the hard work and dedication of the men and women in our Facilities Maintenance Department. They spent a lot of hours working in extreme conditions to keep our public facilities clean and safe. If you happen to see them out working at your favorite park, boat ramp or beach walkover, consider letting them know that you also appreciate their hard work.
