The National Association of Counties (NACo) has proclaimed April as National County Government Month. Each day this month, we will provide different facts about Nassau County, including information about its history, services provided and more.
Day 4: Board Meetings
The Board of County Commissioners holds regular meetings on the second and fourth Monday of each month at 6pm and the third Wednesday of each month at 9am. They also call special meetings as needed. Agendas for meetings are published to the County's website at www.nassaucountyfl.com at least 72 hours prior to the meeting.
The Board of County Commissioners makes it easy for residents to be involved in meetings. In fact, participating in public meetings is the best way to become aware of issues being discussed and/or considered and to share your opinion on agenda items before a vote takes place.
Unable to attend a meeting in-person? No problem! The Board streams their meetings live so you can watch and follow along remotely. The videos are then posted online following the conclusion of the meeting so they're available for you to watch at any time. Meetings can be found on the Clerk's Office website at www.nassauclerk.com/watch-meetings.
In addition to the Board of County Commissioners meetings, there are other County Boards/Committees that have live-streamed meetings that are also posted online for access later:
- Amelia Island Tourist Development Council
- American Beach Advisory Board
- Code Enforcement Board
- Conditional Use & Variance Board
- Conservation Lands Acquisition and Management (CLAM) Committee
- Construction Board of Adjustments & Appeals
- Development Review Committee
- Nassau County-Amelia Island Tree Commission
- Planning & Zoning Board
