1/22/21 @ 4:30 p.m. - This week, Nassau County received 975 vaccines from the State of Florida-Department of Health. A random drawing of 975 names were pulled from the vaccination waiting list on Tuesday, January 19th. All 975 individuals were notified that their name was pulled and that they were eligible to schedule their appointments.
We would like to extend our gratitude to Nassau County Emergency Management for overseeing the scheduling of appointments and coordinating the vaccination event today at the Yulee Ballpark. Because of them, 500 individuals received their vaccinations today! The remaining individuals not vaccinated today are scheduled for appointments at the Department of Health over the next few days. The County will hold another randomized drawing as soon as additional vaccines are received from the State. Please check OneNassau.com regularly or sign up for citizen alerts for the most up-to-date information. If you have any questions related to scheduling, please contact Emergency Management at (904) 548-0900, Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm. -Sabrina Robertson Public Information Officer 1/15/21 @ 10:30 a.m. - On Thursday, January 14, 2021, the County Manager issued Executive Order No. 26, implementing a COVID-19 Vaccination Plan. This plan will allow residents in the first priority group (residents 65 and up, health care workers with direct patient contact, and long-term care facility residents and staff) to sign up through EventBrite to be added to a waiting list. Names will be drawn at random as vaccines are received from the State of Florida Department of Health. To register, visit www.onenassau.com at your convenience.
In addition, a call center has been established to help individuals register by phone. They will be open Monday through Friday from 8am-5pm. However, the call center will also be open this Saturday, January 16, 2021, to provide an extra day to assist by phone since County offices will be closed on Monday, January 18, 2021 in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. It's important to note that adding your name to the list does not guarantee an immediate vaccination as the County is dependent on the State for providing vaccines. We urge individuals to read the Vaccination Plan in its entirety to get a complete understanding of the process and how it works. We are committed to getting the vaccines out to our residents as quickly as possible and feel that this plan will provide an equal opportunity for everyone in the first priority group who are interested in obtaining the vaccine. We trust that having the registration link open at all times will alleviate frustrations of having to visit the site daily to check for open appointments and that having your name on a list will provide some comfort in knowing that the County is aware of your needs and that you will not be forgotten. Thank you for patience and understanding as we navigate through this issue. -Sabrina Robertson County Manager's Office 1/6/21 @ 4:05 p.m. - The Board of County Commissioners has called a special meeting for tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. to discuss the COVID-19 vaccine. Please make certain you have read the documents describing the ingredients of the Moderna Vaccine, What to Expect, and the Screening & Consent Form thoroughly and confirm that you can take the shot before reserving a dose. The Nassau County Department of Health has issued the following message regarding the availability of the COVID-19 vaccine: "Following the initial distributions to high-risk frontline health care workers and long-term care facility staff and residents, we will work to provide the vaccine to additional priority groups, to include older adults over 65. As of December 29th we started delivering vaccines to our emergency (EMS) responders, urgent care providers and other health care providers with direct patient contact. Once that is complete, we plan to provide the vaccine to the priority group of older adults over 65. We do not have an exact timeline for providing the vaccine to these priority groups but we are committed to providing the vaccine to each priority group and to the general public as quickly as possible. Our plans are dependent on vaccine supply and delivery. Updates on timelines for the general public will be provided as those plans become available.
